Job Summary: Spend each day making a positive a difference in the lives of Abbotsford’s youth and take the lead in several of our programs.

What you will do each day:

• work as a part of the AYC Leadership Team to develop programming
• develop and deliver new programs according to funding guidelines
• take the lead in several of our programs including DEI, leadership development and social emotional learning
• build connection with youth in our youth centres, at local schools and in our other programs
• create a safe atmosphere where youth can thrive; encourage positive growth and development
• assist us to support, direct and develop our team of youth workers and volunteers
• make a difference in the lives of youth

What we need from you:

• enthusiasm, patience, and a sense of humour
• a positive view of youth and an understanding of youth issues
• experience working with youth is required / experience in volunteer or staff supervision is an asset
• experience planning and facilitating youth programs and activities
• a car that you can use on a daily basis to get to and from programs throughout the day (we reimburse for mileage)
• a degree (in a related field is an asset)
• a willingness to put yourself ‘out there’ and approach youth, guardians and community members to talk about our programs
• a clean criminal record check

When we need you:

• the ideal candidate will be available for full time work 30 - 35 hours a week
• shifts are primarily during the day, but also some evenings, and occasionally on the weekends
• you can expect to work ‘day shifts’ 4 days a week and ‘afternoon / early evening’ shifts 1 -2 day a week.

Salary: $24.00-$25.00 / hr to start
